Mood-Sensing-Bracelet-Prototype
Research on the Emotive Internet has led to a patent for a new type of wearable device that combines the iconic 1970s mood stone with today's wireless, sensor and mobile apps technology. The technical name for this novel combination is the "Mood Sensing Sharing Device" (MSSD).
MSSD enable mood stone color sharing, which allows a wearer's emotional state to be conveyed over a communications network via a new ecosystem of emotive social apps, which are responsive to the mood data being produced by the wearer’s MSSD.
Example emotive apps, that we expect to materialize, include mobile games, which adjust in difficulty based on the emotional state of a player, and dating apps, which may indicate whether or not a potential partner is “in the mood to connect."
MSSDs are envisioned to be placed in the setting of all types of jewelry, including rings, bracelets, earrings, pendants, et cetera. The first proof-of-concept prototype is a mood sensing sharing bracelet (shown here). Green indicates a neutral mood state: fine, cool, alright, satisfied or chilled for example. Blue corresponds to a more upbeat state of mind: delighted, jubilant, joyful, blissful or ecstatic. A red mood stone color indicates stress or anxiety for example.
